Hair Transplant with Choi Pen

What Is The DHI Technique?

It is also called Hair Transplant with Choi Pen, which is a technique of direct hair transplantation without the need for a prior incision on the scalp, and which can save time and better control the direction of hair growth later.

This technique makes it possible to implant 7000 follicles in a single session, at a rate of 80 follicles per square centimeter.

The advantage of this technique is that it does not require a complete shave of the hair, but only to shave the donor area, so this technique makes it possible to properly locate the locations of the follicles.

Hair transplantation is performed using a pen called a Choi pen, using a hollow needle to open a channel in the head to implant the follicles simultaneously by pressing a button on the top of the pen.

DHI Hair Transplant Candidates:

- People whose hair is sparse and low density.

- Women in general, because during hair transplantation, they do not prefer to completely shave the hair.

- In general people who do not want to shave their hair.

Procedures before Hair Transplant with the DHI Technique:

1-First of all, the doctor examines the hair and the scalp well to ensure the quality of the donor area and the quality of the hair, then he determines the front line, that is to say the line where the hair follicles will end, it must be determined according to the proportion of the shape of the forehead and the skull in general, and this is what later determines the quantity of follicles to be implanted per square centimeter.

2- Once the donor area is determined, and it is often the back of the head due to the abundance and density of hair in this area, and which is also invisible, the assistants shave the donor area to precisely locate the follicles, then they are extracted one by one and placed in a minute in a nutrient solution to keep their cells alive.

DHI Hair Transplant Process Steps:

1-The donor area and the balding area are subjected to local anesthesia by applying pressure, which relieves the tingling pain by about 80%, then the triple follicles are extracted, i.e. those containing 3 hair to ensure a dense look to the implanted hair.

2-The follicles are kept in nutritional fluid until the Choi pens are prepared for implantation, the follicles are placed at the end of the Choi pen, which performs the process of opening the channels and simultaneous implantation by simple press of a button. Several pens can be used at the same time to speed up the implantation process and to avoid leaving the extracted follicles in the open for longer.

Tips after DHI Hair Transplantation:

-Clean the implanted surfaces with water 3 times a day.

- Avoid direct sun exposure for 2-3 weeks.

- Do not comb or scratch the hair.

- Use a medical shampoo with the advice of a doctor, and do not rub the hair too hard to avoid the fall of the follicles, and do not pour the water directly on the head.

- Take the prescribed medications at the times set by the doctor.

Complications of DHI Hair Transplant:

Overall, the surgery is characterized by a short recovery period, but this does not prevent some complications, such as swelling or irritation of the skin, besides the numbing pain caused by the anesthesia. However, the hair begins to grow steadily from the second to the fourth month from the date of the surgery, and thick, integrated hair appears within 11 months after the transplant.
