Thigh Lift in Turkey

The thigh is especially important for women, because of it makes them look pretty, thin and attractive, but the hips and legs in general are the areas of the body that gain more weight rapidly and they are the hardest to lose weight despite diet and workouts.

As the weight increases, the cellulite and protrusions begin to change the shape of the thigh so that it loses its texture and the skin being flabby.

Usually, women or men resort to diet or exercises to tighten their thighs, other women resort to surgery to perform thigh liposuction. After obtaining the required weight, and despite this intervention, excess skin keeps appearing, which does not adapt to the new shape of the thighs.

In this case, we often prefer a thigh lift or which is called Thighplasty surgery, which is performed to remove the excess skin, and in specific cases, the surgeon can resort to simple liposuction, if there is no not a lot of accumulated fat in the thighs.

The purpose of the thigh lift operation at OREC Clinic is to remove excess and sagging skin tissue in the vicinity of the inner or outer thigh, by cutting the skin through certain lines drawn above. above the skin and determined by the surgeon, who tries to choose the ideal place for the incision so that it is not visible because of the scar which will remain at the place of the operation, and which will diminish over time. Thus, the size of the hips becomes proportional to the existing fat density, and the patient can achieve a better shape of the thighs.

Types of Thigh Lift Surgery:

There are three types of operation:

– If it is a beginning stage, we can be satisfied with a thigh lift with a small scar in the furrow.

– If the alteration is more significant but located at the top of the thigh, we choose a thigh lift with a short vertical scar (10/12cm). It is most often inconspicuous. We always get a good result because this thigh lift allows you to remove excess skin in width.

– If the skin is very damaged (significant weight loss for example), it will be necessary to resort to a thigh lift operation with a long vertical scar (from top to bottom of the thigh) and with always spectacular results.

These three operations can be designed as part of cosmetic surgery or reconstructive surgery after a gastric sleeve operation. They may include a phase of liposuction allowing the complete reshape of the thigh.

Types of Sagging Thighs:

- Horizontal sagging, in which the thigh is incised vertically during surgery.

- Vertical sagging, the thigh is incised in this case, horizontally during surgery.

- The horizontal and vertical sagging which is the most advanced case in which the incision occurs in the form of the letter L or T.

Preoperative Procedures:

• The patient should have no swelling, inflammation, friction or peeling.

• Weight control that must be stable before and after the procedure for a successful result over time.

• It is preferable to consult the anaesthetist (surgery under general anesthesia).

•  Stop smoking completely a month prior to the procedure.

The Steps of the Thigh Lift Procedure:

When the patient comes to the hospital, the first necessary tests are done for diabetes, hypertension, hepatitis C and HIV. Afterwards, the patient will meet with the surgical staff to determine the area of the operation, the incisions to be made and the necessary steps.

The Intervention Is Based On The Following Steps:

Medial (Inner) Thigh Lift: An inner (medial) thigh lift is the most popular type of thigh lift. It involves incisions in the groin crease and is best suited for people with a moderate amount of skin and fat in this area. For an inner thigh lift, the surgeon essentially lifts the skin and tissues of the thigh to tighten it.

Vertical Thigh Lift: A vertical thighplasty involves a vertical incision that begins at the crease in the groin and extends to the inside of the knee. The scar is visible when the inner thighs are exposed, such as when wearing a bathing suit or miniskirt. During a vertical thigh lift, the surgeon removes a patch of skin from the inner thigh. A vertical thigh lift may be ideal for people with more fat and loose skin.

Outer Thigh Lift: An outer thigh lift requires an incision that extends from the groin around the hip. The surgeon will remove a strip of skin from the outer thigh and tighten the skin around the hips.

Spiral Thigh Lift: A spiral thigh lift is a newer procedure that targets both the front, back, inner and outer thigh. The incision is located under the gluteal fold and continues over the groin crease at the junction of the thigh and the pubic region. This plastic surgery procedure is ideal for people who have lost a lot of weight, such as patients who have undergone Bariatric surgery.

Combined Thigh Lift Surgery: Sometimes multiple types of thigh lifts are carried out at the same time. Which thigh lift or thigh lift combination is right for you depends on a number of factors, including the amount of fat and skin to be removed, the quality of your skin, and your preferences.

Post-operative Instruction for thigh lift procedure:

-Complete rest in the hospital for the period determined by the doctor.

-Ice the thighs for the first 24 hours, 20 minutes each time.

-Abstain from smoking for 3 weeks.

- Refrain from playing sports to avoid hernia wounds.

- Refrain from driving to avoid hernias.

- Examiner follow-up with the doctor for a period of two months.

-Take prescribed painkillers.

-Drink more fluids.

-Walk in moderation to avoid clots.

Thigh Lift Complications:

Thanks to advances in surgery and anesthesia, complications are particularly rare. It is nevertheless preferable to take into account the possible risks during a thigh lift.

-Although exceptional, a more or less important hematoma can occur following the thigh lift. The surgeon may perform a surgical revision to resolve it.

- An infection remains possible after the intervention.

- The scars can evolve badly. This evolution is not due to the thigh lift in particular, but to the intervention in general.

- Asymmetry of thigh shape can occur in the absence of an experienced specialist surgeon.

All of these complications are rare and can be treated by your surgeon.

How to Get Rid of the After Operation Scar:

There are many ways to get rid of that annoying scar. About a year after the operation the scar begins to disappear or not be very visible.

Botox injections or tattoos of the same skin color can be used in addition to cosmetic laser treatments.
